Christmas weekend is finally here! I’ve spent so much of the last two months prepping for the Christmas holiday, I feel like the time just flew right by. This is the first holiday we’re hosting at our new home in Las Vegas, so we wanted to make sure everything looked perfect!

I love decorating for Christmas and this year we decided to go full swing since everybody was coming out to our house. I have always been a huge fan of silver and gold for the holidays, so I decided to go with that color scheme for my table and decor. I also wanted it to have a glam feeling, so I added little touches of sparkle throughout. I got my decorations and tableware from a few different places, I linked most of them above.

I hope everybody has an amazing holiday with family and friends!  What are some of your traditions for Christmas?

Xoxo,

Danielle

Nothing screams Christmas more than a red sweater and velvet pants. My sister got into town yesterday, so naturally we decided to do some blog posts. We have always loved doing hair and makeup, picking out outfits and taking photos. With Christmas around the corner we went for a holiday inspired look!

This slouchy sweater is one of my faves, it can be worn slightly off one shoulder and I love the v in the back. This one from Missguided is currently sold out, but they have a ton of similar styles and Lulu’s has an almost identical one; all at great price points! These velvet pants from AG are perfect for the holiday season and are also super flattering. We paired them with a pair of classic black pumps and chain handbag for the ultimate holiday look.

The rest of my family is coming in at the end of the week, and I can’t wait to spend some quality time together. We haven’t all been together for a family vaca in a while, so I’m definitely looking forward to us all being together! We’re spending Christmas here in Las Vegas and then heading out to Arizona for New Years. What are your plans for the holidays?

It’s finally starting to feel like fall here in Las Vegas!  I had been back in Cleveland for Thanksgiving, and in the past week and a half the temps definitely cooled down quite a bit. It was a crazy weekend of unpacking, laundry, getting Christmas decorations up and opening packages (aka Black Friday purchases!) It was really bothering me that I hadn’t gotten our tree up or started decorating yet, so as soon as I got home I put myself to work. Although it’s not completely done yet, I got a good start and hope to finish this week so I can share it with you guys!

Recently I’ve been on the hunt for a cute skirt that I could pair with some over the knee boots. So when I came across this one, I knew I had to have it in my closet! I love the belt and button detailing, it adds just a little bit of flair. A turtleneck is a great staple to have in your wardrobe, and this one is so warm and soft; I will definitely be getting a lot of use out of it. Thank you to StyleWe for the collaboration!

Who else is excited for the start of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills this week?? It’s one of my favorites, I don’t know if it’s because I used to live in Los Angeles, or I just love Lisa Vanderpump’s dog Giggy! (He’s seriously the cutest little guy!) Who else is hooked?

Jacket: Blank NYC| Tank: Old (similar here)| Jeans: Frame| Boots: Sam Edelman (similar here and here)| Choker: Nordstrom

Good morning! I hope everybody had a great holiday and enjoyed lots of Thanksgiving food and Black Friday deals! I spent the weekend with family and friends, eating lots of cheesy potatoes and shopping. It’s always so nice to just chill out and be with the people you love most, but now it’s time to start getting things ready for Christmas and hit the gym!

With the temps finally dropping I have been wearing this jacket non stop. I ordered it during the Nordstrom Anniversary sale back in August and have been saving it for the cooler weather. It has quickly become one of my favorites, I may just have to snag it in another color! I love the moto style, and I didn’t have any suede jackets, so this added a little bit of variety to my closet.

I always love wearing an over the knee boot to add a little bit of edge to an outfit. I bought these Sam Edelman boots last year at DSW, but I just ordered another pair by Vince Camuto from Nordstrom this past weekend that were on sale; I can’t wait to get them!

Now that Thanksgiving is over, it’s full go time on the Christmas decorating! I have some decorations bought, but I need more. What are some of your favorite stores to shop at for Christmas decorations?

Hair Products/Tools I’m Loving!

Happy Monday! I hope everybody had a great weekend. I’ve been trying to get all of my Christmas decorations in order to see what I have and what I still need to get. This year I’m hosting Christmas at our house, which I’m really excited about! It’ll be the first time I’ve had Christmas at my house, so I really need to amp up my Christmas decor!

A couple of weeks ago I ordered a few new hair products/tools that I have been loving and wanted to share with you guys; along with some of my long time faves!

1. The Wet Brush

the-wet-brush

My hair has always been the type to get really tangled. Whether it’s right after I wash and towel dry it or many hours of having my hair curled, I feel like I’m always struggling to get it brushed out. I had heard many people say the Wet Brush was good, so I figured it was time to try it out. After having used it a couple of weeks now, I can honestly say I love it! It works great and doesn’t pull on the hair causing breakage.

2. Clairol Shimmer Lights

clairol-shimmer-lights

This one’s for all you blondies out there!  When I moved out to Vegas, we had been warned that the water was hard and got a water softner, but I also think it gave my hair more of a yellowy tint. I remembered having used blue/purple shampoos in the past and had paid a decent amount for them. A month ago I was reading one of my favorite blogs, The Skinny Confidential (if you haven’t read her blog, you absolutely have to check it out!), and she recommended Clairol’s Shimmer Lights to keep your blonde hair vibrant. So I ordered it and used it in between every couple of washes and noticed a huge difference right away! The price point is great and it really does help keep your blonde.

3. It’s a 10 ‘Miracle Leave in Product’

its-a-10

You guys have heard me talk about this product before, but it’s still one of my top products I use. As I said before my hair gets super tangled right after it’s been washed. So when I take the towel off my head I immediately spray it with this It’s a 10 leave in spray and then use my wet brush to brush out my hair. This is one of the first times I feel like I’m not struggling to get my hair untangled and ripping it out at the same time. These two products have been life savers!

4. Hot Tools Marcel Curling Iron

Hot Tools Curling Iron.png

I have been using this curling iron for years and it is still my go to for loose beachy waves. I have had a lot of people ask how I get my curls and this curling iron is my secret. When I use it I flip it upside down, the top end facing the ground, I keep the loose handle open, and wrap my hair around the barrel; leaving the end out to get that messier less perfect curl. If you guys want to see a hair tutorial on how I curl my hair, let me know and I can definitely do a post on that.

5. Living Proof Flex Shaping Hair Spray

living-proof-flex-shaping-hairspray

Another product you have heard me talk about is this hairspray by Living Proof; it’s still on my favorites list. The reason I love this hairspray so much is that it has a nice hold without creating a stiff feeling to your hair. When it comes to styling my hair, I have it curled about 90% of the time, this hairspray is also what helps me to achieve the loose beachy waves.

I’m always looking for new hair products/tools to try, what are some of your favorites of the moment?

My Top 5 Wineries to Visit in Napa

Happy Friday!! I’m so happy to see the weekend finally arrive! Last week Mo was going to Napa for work, and he asked if I’d want to tag along. I never turn down a chance to go to Napa, so of course I went! This was my third time visiting, so I definitely had some wineries that I know I already loved and wanted to visit again.

This time I did go to some other wineries that I had never been to before and I can say that I added a few new ones to my favorites list. Napa has endless amounts of vineyards and wineries; almost too many that sometimes it can feel overwhelming! I find I can only do a few wineries a day, because let’s be honest after tasting 4 or 5 different wines at each winery, it definitely adds up.

I compiled a list of a few of my favorite wineries at the moment. So if your planning a trip to Napa anytime soon, check out some of top picks.

1. Chandon

SONY DSC

chandon-champagne

Chandon has been a long time favorite of mine; it was the first winery that I ever went to so it’s definitely one of my go to’s. Well besides the fact that I love my bubbly! They have some of the best sparkling wines here and the atmosphere is just really cool at this winery. Right now they have a bottle of their classic Brut that was designed by Rebecca Minkoff, it is so pretty. Last time I was here they did a collaboration with DKNY. So I feel like they always have some sort of cool bottle and if you like sparkling wines you will absolutely love it here!

2. Artesa

Artesa was a new winery for me this trip, but I fell in love with it right away. My cousin who lives in San Francisco belongs here and wanted to show it to me this time around. The entrance is built under ground and the views from here were pretty amazing. The inside had a very bright and modern feel to it and around back there was a great patio you can sit on and drink your wine. This is one of those wineries that I will definitely visit again!

This was the view from the patio, pretty stunning!

3. Castello di Amorosa

castello-castle

This winery might be my favorite of them all! Not only do they have great wine, but the surroundings are incredible. The first time I came here we took a tour of the castle, which was so cool because they take you around showing you the whole castle and at the end you got to do the tasting of their wines surrounded by barrels. On the way out there is an area with different animals, this time the goats were roaming around, so I actually got to feed one! They have events at the castle different times of the year, there is one for New Years that I’m dying to go to one year. If you’re looking for a full experience and great wine, this is your winery!

4. Quintessa

quintessa-view-2

Quintessa was another winery that I hadn’t been to yet until this trip, but one of our friends recommended we check it out while we were there. This is one of those wineries you need to call in advance and make an appointment to go to, but it’s definitely worth seeing. The grounds were beautiful here and if you have a group, they have all glass tasting rooms with the view above, pretty gorgeous! This was a winery I felt I got a real one on one experience and got to really learn about their wines.

5. Raymond Vineyards

raymond-winery-napa-2

While we were over at Quintessa they recommended that we check out Raymond Vineyards if we had never been there, so we headed over to see it. This winery was completely different than any winery I have ever seen! It’s really over the top with eccentric decorating, the atmosphere here was really fun! When we walked in I felt like I had seen this winery before, and then remembered I had seen it on The Real Housewives of Orange County. If you’re an avid RHOC watcher like me, you’ll definitely remember seeing this winery two seasons ago. There were beautiful chandeliers hanging throughout, mannequins placed around the tasting room and there was a room that was completely red velvet and just totally over the top! This winery really is something to see, I’m glad we stopped to see it this time around.

Next time you go to Napa be sure to check some of these wineries. They all give you totally different feels and are an experience in themselves!

If you’ve been to Napa what are some of your favorite wineries to visit?

Monday you always come around so quickly! I hope everybody had a great weekend, mine was pretty relaxing other than unpacking and laundry from my trip to Napa last week. It was so beautiful there and I got to experience a few new wineries that I hadn’t been to yet. I plan on doing a post this week on some of my favorite wineries to hit while you’re in Napa!

I got an email a few weeks back from Missguided and this duster jacket was featured in it. From that point on I couldn’t stop thinking about it, so yes with me having lack of control when I want to buy something, I ordered it! I loved the longer length and I knew this beautiful nude color was one I would get a lot of use out of.

Not only does it come in a few other colors, but the price point is amazing! The material is super soft and quite warmer than what I expected. It does run on the larger side, but I stuck with my original sizing to achieve the oversized look that is intended.

I hope everybody has a great start to their week! I started shopping for some new Christimas decorations and it’s getting me in the holiday spirit! Has anybody started decorating yet?

Danielle

Fall Trend: Bomber Jacket

Jacket: Rag and Bone similar here| Top: Free People| Skirt: Free People| Booties: Kristin Cavallari| Handbag: YSL

And another week begins! I hope everyone had a great weekend and enjoyed their extra hour of sleep. I woke up yesterday morning thinking I had slept in and when I got up and looked at the clock and it said 6:00 AM, I was so confused!

I’m spending this week in Napa, which is one of my absolute favorite places to visit. I love visiting all of the different vineyards and taking in the beautiful scenery. I have never been to Napa in November, so I’m really excited to see what fall in Napa has to offer!

As I’ve said before I love a cute jacket for fall, and this season bomber jackets have been all the hype. I love the look of this Rag and Bone bomber, of course in my favorite color black! I paired it with a skirt and booties for a little bit of a different look. This jacket can also easily be worn with a cute pair of sneakers and jeans. These black Kristin Cavallari booties have been one of my go to pairs for fall, and they are surprisingly really comfortable!

Well I’m off to go explore! If you’ve been to Napa, what are some of your favorite wineries?

Hair Tutorial: Voluminous Ponytail

Happy Friday ladies!! Today I’m bringing you another amazing hairstyle from my sister Alicia. This fun ponytail hairstyle was featured on my blog post that I posted on Monday. I love throwing my hair in a ponytail when I don’t feel like washing it or going through the whole process of curling my hair. I love this ponytail style because there’s a little extra flare and style by wrapping hair around the base of the pony. I also just chopped a few inches off and this style helps to create a longer more voluminous look. So let’s get the tutorial started!

Products You Will Need

Step 1

SONY DSCSONY DSC

First you’ll want to start by teasing the crown of your hair. Then smooth it over with a teasing comb and pull back into a pony tail at the top section of your head. Pull the rest of the hair below into another lower pony tail, leaving the front section of hair on both sides down. When using two ponytails like this, it helps to create length and volume to your hair.

Step 2

SONY DSCSONY DSCSONY DSC

Next take a portion of the hair from the front on both sides and twist around the elastic camouflaging the hair tie, and secure with a bobby pin.

Step 3

SONY DSCSONY DSCSONY DSC

The same goes for the top pony tail. Take a section of hair from the loose hair in front on both sides, leaving what you would like to frame the face down, and twist around the hair tie and then secure with a bobby pin. For more height, at the end you can take the tail of your teasing comb and use it to lift from underneath where you teased your hair in the first step. Finish the look by spraying Living Proof Flex Shaping Hairspray.
