Christmas Gift Guide

I can not believe that Christmas is this weekend! I finally feel like I’m slightly ready, the house is looking pretty holiday ready. This year my family decided to do Christmas out here in Vegas, it’ll be the first holiday I’m hosting so I wanted everything to be perfect! The last couple of months have been crazy busy with lots of traveling around, so of course I’ve been running around last minute trying to get everything together.

I always feel like I’m throwing things together last minute, especially when it comes to gift buying. It’s definitely something that I need to work on so I don’t stress myself out so much! For those of you who are still searching for some last minute gift ideas, I rounded up some of my favorite items.

1. Angel by Thierry Mugler

This is one of my favorite perfumes! I’ve been wearing it for a while now, and I always get a ton of compliments.

2. Pottery Barn Faux Fur Robe

This robe is seriously my favorite! It’s so soft and warm, I love it especially for the winter months. (It’s on sale right now too!)

3. Street Level Reversible Tote

I ordered this at the beginning of the year and it has been my go to all year long. It’s perfect for traveling and for the girl that loves to carry just about everything in her bag! It’s reversible and you can’t beat the price.

4. Living Proof Dry Shampoo

You guys have heard me talk about this dry shampoo in the past, but it really is such a great product. It was definitely on my Christmas list this year!

5. Mac Cosmetics Holiday Set

Every year I fall in love with Mac’s holiday gift sets! I’m obsessed with their products and they have the cutest makeup bags that come along with the set. (Right now this gift set is an additional 25% off!)

6. Restoration Hardware Faux Fur Blanket

My parents bought us this blanket a few Christmas’s ago and it is amazing! I use it all the time and it looks so chic sitting on our couch.

7. Fresh Skincare Gift Set

Fresh skincare has been one of my favorite skincare lines and this value set has a great variety of their different products, the perfect way to try everything.

8. Sonix Phone Case

Sonix has some of the cutest phone cases, this Rose all day case is my fave!

9. Michael Kors Watch

My Michael Kors watch is one I wear all of the time, this one is currently on sale!

10. Kate Spade Portable Charger

I’m always on my phone causing the battery to die so quickly. Having an external battery has really saved me, especially while I’m traveling.

I hope this guide helped give you a little gift inspiration! I’m off to finish my Christmas shopping, anbody else still have shopping to do??

Half Up With A Knot

This past weekend my sister and I were shooting some blog posts and we decided to try some different hair styles. She has always been amazing at styling hair, so when she asked me if she could try some different styles on me, I definitely took her up on the offer! This style, is one of my favorites, I love having a little hair pulled back with some loose pieces around the face. It’s a pretty simple style and you don’t need many products to achieve this look. We started by curling my hair with the Paul Mitchell curling wand, but this can also be done with straight hair as well.

Products you will need

Step 1

Tease the crown of your hair and section the top part of your hair back, securing with two criss crossed bobby pins.

Step 2

Then from each side take a small section of hair, from below the part that is pulled back, and tie both pieces in a loose knot, secure with bobby pins. Place the knot over the pinned hair from the previous step.

Step 3

SONY DSCTake two more pieces of hair from each side and loosely knot again above the last knot and secure with bobby pins.

Final Look

Voila! There you have yourself a beautiful loose half up style.

Who else loves a slightly mess half back hair style?

My Makeup Routine: Face Products

Happy Friday, we made it to the weekend!! Today I’m going to share with you guys what products I like to use for my current face makeup routine. I have tried a ton of different products, right now these are what I’m currently loving and using to get my go to look.

  1. So first I like to start out by spritzing my whole face with Mac Prep and Prime Fix +. It gives my face a nice refreshing feel and helps hydrate my skin before I get started.
    fix +
  2. Once that has dried I apply Mac Prep and Prime Natural Radiance primer with my Sigma F80 Kabuki brush. This will help keep my foundation looking fresh and last throughout the day.
  3. After the primer is on I take my two foundations, Mac Face and Body Foundation and Makeup Forever HD Foundation  and mix a little bit of each together. The Mac Face and Body has a more sheer coverage and Makeup Forever HD is more full coverage, so I like to mix the two to get an in between. I then apply it with the Sigma F80 Kabuki Brush again. I like to start in the middle of my face working my way outwards in circular motions.

  4. I use two different kinds of concealer, both from Mac. I take Mac Prolongwear in NW 20 and NW 25 and mix them together. I then apply it as my under eye concealer and my highlight. I apply it between my eyebrows, down the middle of my nose, my cupids bow and chin, and then the shape of an upside down triangle under my eyes. I blend all of this out with my damp Beauty Blender. I like using my beauty blender for this because it gives it a seamless look and after trying different tools to apply my concealer I have found that a sponge works the best for what I’m trying to achieve.
  5. Then, if I need to, I use the Mac Studio Finish Concealer, which is more my skin tone. I use this to cover up any blemishes that are in random spots around my face . studio-finish-concealer
  6. Now that I have all of the liquid makeup on my face I go in with my Mac Prep and Prime Transparent Powder and Sigma F10 & F30 powder brushes and lightly tap the powder to set my under eye area and any other places I tend to get shiny (For me that’s my T zone).
  7. Next up is my contour. I use this Hoola Bronzer and this Mac 168 Angled Contour Brush to apply my contour to my hairline on the top of my forehead, under my cheekbones, and under my jaw line. Then I change to my Mac 224 Tapered Blending Brush and apply the bronzer down each side of my nose to achieve that non surgical nose job!
  8. For my blush I really like the color MAC Desert Rose for a nice daytime look. I apply it with the Mac 168 Angled Contour Brush again.

  9. To finish it off sometimes I will spray Mac Fix + again to help set my makeup.

That concludes my most current routine and products that I use to apply my face makeup! If you guys would like to see a step by step of me applying the makeup let me know and I can get a post up on that. I hope everybody has an amazing weekend!

My Makeup Must Haves: Brushes

I have always been a lover of all things beauty. You take me into a Sephora or Mac and I could be there all day! I have tried all kinds of different makeup products and brushes and there are always those few that I keep coming back to. I’m going to break it into two different posts, one for makeup and one for brushes. Today’s post I’m going to talk about  my favorite go to makeup brushes.

Sigma F80
Sigma F80 Flat Kabuki Brush

This flat kabuki brush is from Sigma and I love it to put my foundation on. It’s flat top and dense fibers work really well at blending the foundation into the skin. It doesn’t leave any of those dreadful foundation lines.

Sigma Powder
Sigma F30 Large Powder Brush

Another one of my favorites from Sigma is their large powder brush. It’s big, it’s fluffy and is perfect for applying powder or to help blend makeup out. I use this when applying my powder to set my makeup or help to blend out my contouring. Who doesn’t love a big fluffy makeup brush!?

eyeliner brush
Mac 263 Small Angle Brush

This brush is from Mac Cosmetics and is my go to for applying my gel liner. A lot of times I like the winged liner look, but we all know how hard it can be to get both wings even!  With this brush the slanted edge makes it easy to glide the liner perfectly across the lash line and give you that perfect winged look.

blender brush
Mac 224 Tapered Blending Brush

This is the Mac 224 brush, it is the holy grail brush for blending out your shadows. I tend to use it when I’m applying my shadows in the crease of my eye. I also use it to blend out any other shadows I apply.

pencil brush
Mac 219 Pencil Brush

This is the Mac pencil brush that I love to use along my lash line. I often use this brush to smoke out my eyeliner above and below my lash lines. It gives a great smokey look for a more dramatic eye.

beauty belnder
Sephora Beauty Blender

This is the beauty blender that I’m sure you have all heard so much about. I got mine from Sephora, and I have to say, it really is worth all of the hype. I dampen mine and then squeeze out the excess water and use it to apply my foundation. It gives your foundation a nice dewy finish.

What are some other makeup brushes or tools that you guys love?
