Pink Pout Favorites

Happy Friday! The weekend is finally here! I’m currently posting this from San Francisco, I’m spending the weekend here with Mo, my Sister, Brother in law and Cousin (follow our adventures on Snap and Instagram!). I always love coming to Northern California and enjoying the cooler temps and beautiful scenery. Finally I can bring out my fall wardrobe!

When it comes to my favorite lipsticks, I always seem to choose pink tones, what can I say I’m a sucker for the pink pout! MAC cosmetics has always, always been my favorite for lipsticks. They have such a wide variety of beautiful colors, I could pretty much spend hours standing there swatching all the different lipsticks. Another really great thing about MAC is that when you bring in six empty MAC makeup containers, you can get a lipstick for free, pretty awesome! Having tried a lot of their lipsticks I thought I’d share my top five pink lipsticks of the moment.

My Fave Contour and Highlight Products

When contour and highlighting came about, everyone and their mother was rushing to the nearest makeup stores to grab these magical products that could create such an illusion. Who wouldn’t want a slimmer nose and more sculpted cheek bones without going under the knife?! It is really such an amazing concept and can be done with so many different products. I have tried both the powder and cream products and really like both. Of course if you have more oily skin I’d recommend powders, and if you’re drier more of a cream base; I have mixed and used a cream and a powder too. Below are my favorite products to contour and highlight with at the moment!

My Makeup Routine: Face Products

Happy Friday, we made it to the weekend!! Today I’m going to share with you guys what products I like to use for my current face makeup routine. I have tried a ton of different products, right now these are what I’m currently loving and using to get my go to look.

  1. So first I like to start out by spritzing my whole face with Mac Prep and Prime Fix +. It gives my face a nice refreshing feel and helps hydrate my skin before I get started.
    fix +
  2. Once that has dried I apply Mac Prep and Prime Natural Radiance primer with my Sigma F80 Kabuki brush. This will help keep my foundation looking fresh and last throughout the day.
  3. After the primer is on I take my two foundations, Mac Face and Body Foundation and Makeup Forever HD Foundation  and mix a little bit of each together. The Mac Face and Body has a more sheer coverage and Makeup Forever HD is more full coverage, so I like to mix the two to get an in between. I then apply it with the Sigma F80 Kabuki Brush again. I like to start in the middle of my face working my way outwards in circular motions.

  4. I use two different kinds of concealer, both from Mac. I take Mac Prolongwear in NW 20 and NW 25 and mix them together. I then apply it as my under eye concealer and my highlight. I apply it between my eyebrows, down the middle of my nose, my cupids bow and chin, and then the shape of an upside down triangle under my eyes. I blend all of this out with my damp Beauty Blender. I like using my beauty blender for this because it gives it a seamless look and after trying different tools to apply my concealer I have found that a sponge works the best for what I’m trying to achieve.
  5. Then, if I need to, I use the Mac Studio Finish Concealer, which is more my skin tone. I use this to cover up any blemishes that are in random spots around my face . studio-finish-concealer
  6. Now that I have all of the liquid makeup on my face I go in with my Mac Prep and Prime Transparent Powder and Sigma F10 & F30 powder brushes and lightly tap the powder to set my under eye area and any other places I tend to get shiny (For me that’s my T zone).
  7. Next up is my contour. I use this Hoola Bronzer and this Mac 168 Angled Contour Brush to apply my contour to my hairline on the top of my forehead, under my cheekbones, and under my jaw line. Then I change to my Mac 224 Tapered Blending Brush and apply the bronzer down each side of my nose to achieve that non surgical nose job!
  8. For my blush I really like the color MAC Desert Rose for a nice daytime look. I apply it with the Mac 168 Angled Contour Brush again.

  9. To finish it off sometimes I will spray Mac Fix + again to help set my makeup.

That concludes my most current routine and products that I use to apply my face makeup! If you guys would like to see a step by step of me applying the makeup let me know and I can get a post up on that. I hope everybody has an amazing weekend!

Danielle

My Makeup Must Haves: Products

Good morning ladies! Today I’m going to share the makeup products that I have been loving lately. I always enjoy trying new makeup and these products are definitely some of my favorites that I have been using consistently.

fix +
Mac Cosmetics Prep + Prime Fix +

Mac cosmetics Fix + Prep and Prime is something I have been using for a very long time and love it! I spritz a few sprays on my face before I apply my  makeup to refresh my skin, and then again after all of my makeup is on to set it. Sometimes I will even use it after I have washed my face before bed just because it feels so refreshing! It has green tea, chamomile and cucumber in it and is so hydrating on my skin.

face and body
Mac Studio Face and Body Foundation

This face and body foundation from Mac has quickly become a favorite of mine. I love getting that even complexion that foundation gives you, but I hate when it’s thick and cakey and feels like my face can’t breathe. This foundation is more of a light coverage, but can be built up and gives you a dewy finish. You can add powder over it to give it a matte look.

prolongwear concealer
Mac Prolongwear Concealer

Another favorite of mine is this Mac prolongwear concealer. I like to mix NW 20 AND NW 25 together and then apply it as my highlight under my eyes, down the bridge of my nose, my cupids bow and chin. It has a lightweight feel and lasts all day or night. I like to use my damp beauty blender to help blend this concealer out.

hue lip
Mac Cosmetics ‘Hue’ Lipstick
angel lip
Mac Cosmetics ‘Angel’ Lipstick
whirl lip
Mac Cosmetics ‘Whirl’ Lip Pencil
saint germain
Mac Cosmetics ‘Saint Germain’ Lip Glass

When it comes to lipsticks, I’m a total Mac lipstick addict; I love the colors they have to offer! I have some really great bright lipsticks from them, but they also have really great natural colors as well. Two lipsticks I have been using a lot lately are Angel and Hue. When I use Hue, I like to start with this lip pencil  Whirl. I apply it as a lip liner and then fill in my whole lip. I then use Hue and top it off with Saint Germain lipglass. I love mixing the pencils, lipsticks and glosses because you can create so many great colors.

35O_web_new_1024x1024
Morphe 35O Palette

I ordered this palette from Morphe last fall, and I had quite a hard time getting my hands on it! Every time they restocked it, it would sell out. When I got it I was very anxious to try it out and see what all the hype was about, and I instantly fell in love! The colors are so rich and are great quality, and the best part, it was only $22.99 for 35 shadows! If you haven’t tried Morphe’s shadows I highly recommend giving them a shot.

highlighter
Makeup Forever Shine On Powder

This next product I discovered while taking a week long makeup class at Makeup Forever Academy in NYC. Let me tell you, this little jar of powder is amazing!! This powder is used as a highlighter and can be used on your face or your body. It gives off a  shimmer when the light hits it and looks gorgeous on the cheekbone. It contains fine mother of pearl particles, which helps give it that beautiful glow.

What are some other products that you guys love? I’m always looking to try new things!

My Makeup Must Haves: Brushes

I have always been a lover of all things beauty. You take me into a Sephora or Mac and I could be there all day! I have tried all kinds of different makeup products and brushes and there are always those few that I keep coming back to. I’m going to break it into two different posts, one for makeup and one for brushes. Today’s post I’m going to talk about  my favorite go to makeup brushes.

Sigma F80
Sigma F80 Flat Kabuki Brush

This flat kabuki brush is from Sigma and I love it to put my foundation on. It’s flat top and dense fibers work really well at blending the foundation into the skin. It doesn’t leave any of those dreadful foundation lines.

Sigma Powder
Sigma F30 Large Powder Brush

Another one of my favorites from Sigma is their large powder brush. It’s big, it’s fluffy and is perfect for applying powder or to help blend makeup out. I use this when applying my powder to set my makeup or help to blend out my contouring. Who doesn’t love a big fluffy makeup brush!?

eyeliner brush
Mac 263 Small Angle Brush

This brush is from Mac Cosmetics and is my go to for applying my gel liner. A lot of times I like the winged liner look, but we all know how hard it can be to get both wings even!  With this brush the slanted edge makes it easy to glide the liner perfectly across the lash line and give you that perfect winged look.

blender brush
Mac 224 Tapered Blending Brush

This is the Mac 224 brush, it is the holy grail brush for blending out your shadows. I tend to use it when I’m applying my shadows in the crease of my eye. I also use it to blend out any other shadows I apply.

pencil brush
Mac 219 Pencil Brush

This is the Mac pencil brush that I love to use along my lash line. I often use this brush to smoke out my eyeliner above and below my lash lines. It gives a great smokey look for a more dramatic eye.

beauty belnder
Sephora Beauty Blender

This is the beauty blender that I’m sure you have all heard so much about. I got mine from Sephora, and I have to say, it really is worth all of the hype. I dampen mine and then squeeze out the excess water and use it to apply my foundation. It gives your foundation a nice dewy finish.

What are some other makeup brushes or tools that you guys love?

Long Luscious Lashes

SONY DSCSONY DSCSONY DSCSONY DSCSONY DSC

Who doesn’t love a long full set of lashes?! A year ago my sister told me about a lash conditioner that she swore by, so I thought why not, and decided to try it out. It’s called Revitalash, I order mine on drugstore.com for a reasonable price of $69.99.  When I’m getting ready for bed, I put one swipe across my top lash line, after washing my face and applying my night cream. I can honestly say that after a few weeks of using it nightly, I noticed a big difference, this stuff literally works wonders! My eyelashes were decently long before using Revitalash, but this helped to make them fuller and even longer. I have had a lot of people ask me if I’m wearing fake eyelashes after I started to use Revitalash.

Along with using Revitalash, one of my favorite mascaras that helps elongate my lashes is Mac Cosmetics In Extreme Dimension Lash. It coats the lashes a little bit thicker, and the brush is amazing for separating and coating each lash! If you are looking to achieve longer, fuller lashes try these two products, they are my go to!

What are some other eyelash conditioners that work wonders for your lashes?

Danielle
