The Hidden Gem in the Desert

When my husband first told me that we would be moving to Las Vegas for his promotion, I have to say I was quite skeptical about 1. living in Vegas and 2. in the desert. I have always loved the warmer weather, but when I’m next to an ocean! When we would come visit Las Vegas I always had a great time on the strip, but I knew I definitely didn’t want to live that life 24/7.  Little did I know there was a whole world outside of the strip.

Shortly after our move we discovered this little gem called Lake Las Vegas. It has become one of our favorite spots to hang out, you literally don’t even feel like you’re in Vegas when you’re there. It’s located on a man made lake and surrounded by beautiful homes, a golf course, restaurants and shopping. (It is also where Celine Dion resides!)

You can rent kayaks, paddle boats or electric boats and cruise the lake, riding by some of the beautiful homes that are located right on the water. We have taken the electric boats out a few times and have had such a great time!  Both hotels have spas, I personally have been to the Hilton spa and I always look forward to spending the day there using the steam room, sauna, pool and fitness room. The Westin has a great outdoor patio area where you can go grab a cocktail and take in the gorgeous sunsets that Vegas has to offer. There is also an amazing steak and sushi restaurant in the Westin called Marssa,  which is one of my favorites!
